Music

…David and the entire house of Israel celebrated in the Lord’s presence with all their strength, with songs, zithers, harps, tambourines, rattles, and cymbals.

2 Samuel 6:5 CEB

Then Sings My Soul…

At First Baptist, we believe that music is an integral part of worship and faith lived out. Our Music Ministry brings the “music of the spheres” to life in many ways to help enrich our worship experiences. While many places in our society are cutting the fine arts, music is alive and well at FBC. Our music ministry includes the Sanctuary Choir, FBC Cantata Choir (Christmas and Lent), Handbell Choir, instrumental music, congregational music, children’s music, and more! We love our beautiful grand piano and electric organ in the Sanctuary and faithfully use them in worship. Additionally, the FBC Music Ministry encourages everyone to share whatever gifts and talents they possess with the church.

Our worship services have featured numerous instruments: trumpet, violin, flute, oboe, cello, mandolin, guitar, percussion, oboe, chimes, handbells, and more. Creativity abounds, and it is not uncommon to find various genres of music incorporated into our worship services in various combinations of voices. Whether you have an extensive musical background or are looking for a new way to serve at FBC, you are welcome in the Music Ministry!
